PATIENT SAFETY

To ensure the safety of our patients, doctors and staff, we will continue with all our usual COVID 19 precautions when giving patients flu shots.  In particular, we will ensure that patients with serious respiratory symptoms are not seen at the Practice.

APPOINTMENTS

We will be opening appointments for this season shortly. Please keep an eye out for our Text message advising that bookings are now open.

In administering the flu shots, doctors and nurses will wear masks and gloves to ensure that they neither give nor receive the virus. In addition, clinical staff will make frequent use of hand sanitiser. Masks are mandatory for all patients.

FEES

The services of the doctor and nurse in administering the flu vaccine are bulk billed.

The vaccine is free for the following categories of patients

  • Children under 5 years

  • People aged 65 or more

  • Pregnant women

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander persons

  • Persons with certain medical conditions which increase the risk of influenza related complications ( your doctor can advise if you are in doubt)

Patients not in these categories are charged a fee of $20 for the vaccine.
