Brought up on a farm near Toowoomba, Nick first did a degree in science and economics but he knew his real vocation was medicine.  He graduated from The University of Queensland in 2007 and has practiced as a doctor in Canberra over the last 8 years. He has post graduate qualifications in Child and Adolescent Health and in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery. Dr Hamilton’s interest in skin cancer treatment began when he started working for a commercial dermato-pathology laboratory in Brisbane in 2003. He has completed further training on skin cancer and has received a diploma through the Australasian College of Skin Cancer Medicine in 2012 and a certificate in dermoscopy through the Skin Cancer College of Australasia in 2013. 

 

He is the practice’s Clinical Director and is the primary supervisor for the practice’s GP registrars.

In his spare time, he enjoys trying to keep up with his 2 young children exploring the parks and playgrounds of Canberra and has just welcomed a new puppy to the family.

“What I enjoy most about being a GP is the great privilege it is to be a part of my patients lives, both through joyous and then also often very difficult times. Patients will sometimes share thoughts and experiences with me that they have only shared with a select few people and trust me with that information because of my profession and the high standard set by colleagues before me and to which I myself strive”
